Here’s what President Bongbong Marcos said after ordering a courtesy resignation.
“May laman pa ba?” This is what President Bongbong Marcos joked about after ordering a Cabinet revamp during a speech.
On Thursday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called for the courtesy resignation of about 30 Cabinet secretaries for a “bold reset.” According to him, this is the time to realign the government to the expectations of the people.

This decision came after not even half of his anointed Senate bets won seats. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Education Secretary Sonny Angara, and Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla said they have submitted their courtesy resignation already.
Recently, during a speech, after making the order, he quipped a joke about the major revamp. He mentioned some members of his Cabinet, and added while laughing, “Teka may laman pa ba ‘yung Gabinete ko?”
He then added, “Who am I addressing now? We are in flux.”
Being unsatisfied with his party’s performance in the midterm polls prompted him to make the move that would allow him to evaluate the performance of each department. This will also help him determine which officials “will continue to serve in line with his administration’s recalibrated priorities.”
