Anne Curtis in Siquijor Issue: Vlogger Who Threw Shade Apologizes

The vlogger who allegedly threw shade at Anne Curtis in her Siquijor post apologized.

ANNE CURTIS – Content creators Shaun Pelayo and Crissa Liaging faced backlash following their remarks, seemingly throwing shade.

Shaun Pelayo, a Filipino-British model, was disappointed because his efforts in promoting Siquijor Island were unnoticed. He felt there was a lack of acknowledgement for his efforts because, as per his claims, he has been promoting the island in his social media posts.

During a live that was recorded by many and spread like wildfire, he stated, “Ako, promoting the island again pero walang acknowledgement.”

His wife, content creator Crissa Liaging, also known as Life of Habibi, agreed to him. However, following the backlash, this video was taken down from his page. Instead of receiving acknowledgment, they were met with negative comments and were even accused of being entitled.

For Anne Curtis, her posts about her Siquijor travel went viral. With her influence, more attention was drawn to the Island of Fire. She was acknowledged.

Following the backlash, Pelayo spoke through a video posted on his social media page and admitted his fault for what he had said. He apologized to those who were offended because of what they said.

“I haven’t addressed any controversy online yet, pero it’s getting out of hand so I take full responsibility and accountability for the comment that I made on a Facebook Live,” he expressed.

It was accordingly never their intention to bring negativity, but the situation got so out of hand that even he was shocked over the articles he found online regarding his remarks. He is still in Siquijor, and he still feels welcomed. He has so much love and appreciation for those who showed him understanding.

To the bashers, he expressed, “In regards to the negative [comments] and bashers, they’re taking it too far, I feel when they’re sending death threats to me and my asawa [Habibi] so that’s unacceptable on any level and I don’t appreciate that. Let’s try and move forward about this.”
