PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (December 17, 2024)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that four weather systems will bring cloudy to rainy weather over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (December 17, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Four weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that a low-pressure area, Intertropical Convergence Zone, shear line, and the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country.

A Low Pressure Area was spotted 155 kilometers east southeast of Tagum City, Davao del Norte. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

This LPA has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours,” Torres said.

The ITCZ will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

Same weather condition is expected over the Bicol Region and Quezon due to the shear line.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains due over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rainsin  Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon will be rough. Moderate to rough waters are expected over the rest of Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over the remaining parts of the country, according to PAGASA.
