INC Supports Marcos Jr.’s Stand over Sara Duterte Impeachment Moves
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the Iglesia ni Cristo church opposing the impeachment moves against her.
Two (2) impeachment complaints have been filed against Vice Pres. Duterte as of this writing. The House panel has decided to end its probe on the Confidential Funds of Duterte’s office to prevent it from being used on the impeachment complaints.
The filing of impeachment complaints against Duterte came amid the questions over the use of the Confidential Funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) as well as the CFs of the Department of Education (DepEd) during her term. It was in June when she resigned from being the education secretary.
Duterte also left the Marcos cabinet. Since then, she has been throwing tirades against the Chief Executive.
Despite the issues between him and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Pres. Bongbong Marcos is against the filing of impeachment raps against the Vice President. According to the Chief Executive, it will not bring a single Filipino a benefit.
Marcos Jr. also claimed that Duterte is “unimportant” in a big scheme. He admitted that he sent a message to the House lawmakers discouraging them from filing an impeachment complaint against the Vice President.
The Iglesia ni Cristo which is one of the biggest churches in the Philippines share the same stand with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The INC even set to hold a rally against the impeachment moves versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The INC also claimed that they are for peace and they don’t want any conflict to come from any side. The church also claimed that there are a lot of problems that must be addressed first thus, they support the stand of the President.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the stand of the Iglesia ni Cristo on the impeachment moves against her. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President claimed she understands that the INC wants peace in our country as they know that when there is peace, there is progress.
“Naiintindihan ko na gusto ng INC ng kapayapaan sa ating bansa dahil alam nila na kapag merong kapayapaan susunod din ‘yung kaunlaran ng ating bansa,” she said.
Based on the report, Duterte further said she understands that the INC supports the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President as every Filipino wants continuous peace and progress in the country.
“Naintindihan ko ‘yung pagsuporta nila sa opisina ng ating Pangulo, sa opisina ng Office of the Vice President kasi ‘yun din naman ang gusto ng lahat ng mga kababayan natin na mayroong kapayapaan at merong tuluy-tuloy na kaunlaran sa ating bansa,” the Vice President said.
Currently, aside from the impeachment complaints against the Vice President, she is also faced with a subpoena issued by the National Bureau of Investigation. However, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she will not attend the NBI investigation.
