PAGASA Says Amihan and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Shear line and amihan will bring rain over parts of the country.

On (December 5, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA specialist Rhea Torres reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the northeast monsoon will affect Extreme Northern Luzon. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

So generally fair weather conditions po tayo from Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, gayundin sa Palawan, Visayas, at Mindanao,” Torres said.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
