PAGASA Says Generally Fair Weather to Prevail Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that generally fair weather conditions will prevail over most parts of the country.

On (October 8, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torre reported that generally fair weather is expected over the majority of the country. However, the easterlies may cause rains over the eastern section of Luzon.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Quezon. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“The easterlies affect parts of Luzon and based on our satellite image, there are cloud bands in the eastern section of Luzon, particularly Quezon and Bicol Region. These areas may expect rains due to the effects of easterlies,” Torres said.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

A low-pressure area was spotted 305 km West of Coron, Palawan. Another tropical depression was located at 2,650 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 70 kph. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warnings were raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
