MARCOS SENATORIAL SLATE – Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced the bets of the administration for senators in the 2025 Election.
The 2025 Midterm Election is fast approaching. Currently, aspiring politicians are preparing for their bid as the filing of candidacy is set to take place in October. The Liberal Party has previously announced the bids of some popular politicians under the LP.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also announced the bets of the administration for senators in the 2025 Midterm Election. Based on a report on GMA News, the announcement was made during the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas Convention.
The event was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. All the candidates for senator under the Marcos senatorial slate in the 2025 Midterm Election were present except for presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos.
Based on the report, the Marcos senatorial slate is composed of 12 candidates for senators in the upcoming election. Here are the administration’s senatorial bets in the upcoming poll:
- Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos,
- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay,
- Senator Pia Cayetano,
- Senator Lito Lapid,
- Senator Francis Tolentino,
- Senator Imee Marcos,
- Senator Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr.,
- former Senator Manny Pacquiao,
- former Senator Panfilo Lacson
- former Senator Vicente Sotto III,
- Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, and
- former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo
Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave a speech at the announcement of the admin’s bets for senators. He called on the admin’s bets to maintain honesty and love for the Philippines. He stressed it as his only request for the senatorial candidates he endorses.
”Sa aking pag-endorso, ang tanging hiling ko ay mapanatili ang kanilang katapatan at pagmamahal sa bansa. Ito ang pinakamahalagang katangian ng kandidato na aking tinitignan at pinag-iisipan,” the Chief Executive said.
Based on the report, addressed to the public, Pres. Bongbong Marcos said that the senatorial candidates under the admin’s slate are known for their capability and service to the public. At the event, the Chief Executive also witnessed the signing of the manifesto for the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas.
According to Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco who will be the campaign manager of the alliance, those senatorial bets of the admin were chosen for their support to the programs of the Marcos administration.
Five political parties have united. They are the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), National Unity Party, Lakas-CMD, Nacionalista Party, and the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Previously, the Liberal Party also announced that former Vice President Leni Robredo will run for mayor in Naga while former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan will seek a Senate comeback.
