15-Year-Old Student in Pangasinan Went Missing for 2 Days After Failing to Return Home After Class Suspension
A 15-year-old student from Calasiao, Pangasinan, has been missing for two days after the suspension of classes.
The victim identified as Angeline Zara has been missing for two days after failing to return home following the suspension of classes due to rain on Monday (September 2, 2024). She is deeply concerned and has sought the help of Barangay Doyong officials to locate her.
According to her father, Robeth Balanquit, Angeline went to school that morning and even asked for extra money for a school project. However, classes were canceled in the afternoon due to the weather, and the family expected her to come home earlier than usual.
By 7:00 p.m., the family became worried when Angeline had not returned and could not be reached by phone. Robeth mentioned that they searched the area extensively but couldn’t find any trace of her.
CCTV footage from the barangay showed Angeline leaving school with a classmate around 2:30 p.m. They were seen taking shelter in a store due to the rain, but after that, the footage lost track of them as they walked away.
Robeth expressed his hope that Angeline is safe and, if she is upset with them, he reassured her that it’s normal for parents to act out of love and concern. The family is patiently awaiting her safe return.
“Sana makauwi siya nang maayos. Kung may tampo siya sa amin, normal lang [‘yon], dahil magulang lang kami na nagmamahal sa kaniya,” Balanquit said.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand Lopez, chief of the Calasiao Police Station, stated that the authorities are actively assisting in the search for the missing teenager. They have alerted all nearby police stations about the case.
Anyone with information about Angeline’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Calasiao Police Station immediately. The family and the authorities are working tirelessly to find her and ensure her safety.
