Paolo Contis Reveals New Goal After Years in Showbiz
PAOLO CONTIS – Actor Paolo Contis may have achieved many milestones as an actor, but he revealed that his biggest dream now lies behind the camera.
Paolo Contis is looking to take on a new challenge in his career — and this time, it is no longer in front of the camera but behind it. The actor recently shared that one of his biggest dreams now is to become a director and writer, revealing his plans during the press conference for “The Master Cutter,” organized by Netflix.
After years of building his career as an actor, Paolo admitted that he had already experienced many of the things he wanted to achieve in show business. Because of this, he is now aiming to explore a different side of storytelling.
“As an actor actually, wala na masyado. Ang pangarap ko na lang talaga hopefully by next year is I could start directing,” he said.
Aside from directing, Paolo also revealed that he wants to develop his skills as a writer and create his own original material.
“Seriously, I would love to start writing nang mas formal,” he added.
When asked what type of stories he hopes to create in the future, Paolo playfully avoided giving details.
“Makikita niyo na lang,” he said while laughing.
Meanwhile, other cast members of “The Master Cutter” also shared what alternate life they would want if given the chance to live a double life like Dingdong Dantes’ character Atoy.
Director Dominic Zapata revealed that if he could choose another path, he would have wanted to become a priest.
“Maybe a priest. I wanted to be a priest when I was a kid. Pero parang mahirap i-negotiate yung…that wasn’t for me,” said the series director.
Dingdong Dantes, on the other hand, admitted that cooking is his hidden passion.
“Ako, chef. Frustration ko yung pagluluto. Actually, sina-sampolan ko naman sila sa bahay parati pero parating palpak.”
Asked what dish he can confidently prepare, he quickly answered:
“Scrambled egg ang kaya kong gawin!”
Max Collins shared that she would want to become a spy, inspired by the movie “Red Sparrow.”
“[I’ll be a] spy. Have you watched, ‘Red Sparrow’ with Jennifer Lawrence, ‘di ba? I don’t know, that’s what made me wanna be a spy. Pero nakakapagod ‘yung action kailangan very willing ka to, you know, to do crazy things and I’m not. So, that’s why I would choose,” she said.
Jo Berry also revealed her childhood dream.
“Ako po, gusto ko talagang maging lawyer kasi child’s dream ko din eh.”
Sienna Stevens, meanwhile, shared a unique ambition.
“Ako po, gusto kong maging part-time doctor. Morning, artist. Sa gabi po, part-time doctor.”
As the cast members shared their colorful dreams, “The Master Cutter” continues to gain momentum online.
The series is currently streaming on Netflix and has climbed to Number 3 in the Philippines Top 10 TV Shows ranking.
“The Master Cutter” follows Dingdong’s character Atoy, a former scout ranger who lives quietly as a tailor in Baclaran during the day but transforms into a fierce bounty hunter at night. Along with intense action scenes, the series also delivers drama, suspense, and an emotional story about a man willing to do everything for the people he loves.
