Police Arrests Man for Causing Disturbance at Convenience Store in Pasay City
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – A man was arrested after causing a disturbance in a convenience store in Pasay City.
On early Wednesday morning (July 10, 2024), the police authorities arrested a man for running amok at a convenience store in Pasay City. The man, who appeared to be drunk, entered the store and immediately raised concerns among witnesses, according to the Pasay police,
Kaya nga nung napansin nila ilang minuto, pinapalabas nila,” said Pasay police chief Police Colonel Samuel Pabonita.
The situation escalated quickly when the man approached a customer standing near the cashier. He shouted at the customer and suddenly began choking him.
The man managed to run up to the second floor of the store and locked himself in the bathroom before the police arrived and arrested him. Cellphone footage showed the suspect appearing disoriented. He was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.
The incident caused approximately P100,000 worth of damage to the store’s products. The suspect claimed that he suspected the customer of stealing from him. However, he denied being drunk or using illegal drugs.
Patawad po,” the suspect said.
Colonel Pabonita reminded everyone to drink responsibly.
The suspect now faces charges of alarm and scandal, as well as malicious mischief.
