Woman Arrested After Failing to Pay P20,000  GCash cash-in in PalawanÂ
A woman was arrested after she allegedly requested a GCash cash-in worth P20,000 but failed to pay for the transaction in Palawan.
On Friday (July 31, 2026), the 40-year-old woman identified by the alias Anna was arrested in Roxas, Palawan for failing to pay the transaction. The store owner and complainant were identified by the alias Juvy.
According to the police investigation, the woman went to the store and asked for a GCash cash-in transaction amounting to P20,000. She reportedly told the store owner that the money would be sent to her older sibling.
During the transaction, she was also said to be communicating with the supposed recipient through her cellphone.
Before sending the money, the store owner carefully asked the woman several times if the person receiving the funds was really her sibling. After receiving confirmation from the woman, the store owner proceeded with the transaction and successfully transferred the P20,000 to the mobile number provided.
However, after the transfer was completed, the situation quickly changed. When the store owner asked for payment, the woman allegedly failed to provide the amount needed to cover the cash-in transaction.
Authorities said the suspect later admitted that she did not have enough money to pay for the P20,000 that had already been sent.
Concerned about the loss, the store owner immediately reported the incident to the Roxas Municipal Police Station. Police officers then launched an investigation to verify the details of the complaint.
The investigation led to the arrest of the suspect, who is now facing an estafa case. Authorities reminded business owners and cash-in operators to remain careful when handling large transactions and to make sure payment is received before completing money transfers.
