Anjo Yllana Still Hopes to Face TVJ After Painful Court Defeat
ANJO YLLANA – Even after losing the case against TVJ Productions, Anjo Yllana insists his desire to personally say sorry to the legendary trio has not changed.
Actor Anjo Yllana revealed that he still hopes to personally apologize to the hosts of “Eat Bulaga”—Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon—even after the court ruled against him in the P3.5-million damages case filed by TVJ Productions.
During an interview with reporters at the Maddoxx Iconic Runway Diamond Jewelry Fashion Show on Thursday evening, Anjo said he had expected to meet the veteran television personalities during the court proceedings. However, that opportunity never came as they did not encounter each other.
“Ang pagka-reach-out ko kasi yung public apology. Ngayon, hindi naman kami nagkita sa court. I was hoping na may makita ako sa court to say sorry personally,” he said.
The actor explained that he intended to express his apology face-to-face, adding that he had been looking forward to the chance to do so in court.
Despite the ruling, Anjo confirmed that he intends to challenge the decision by filing an appeal. He shared that the legal process is already moving forward, although he also lightened the mood with a joke about the amount he was ordered to pay.
“Naka-P20 thousand na ako na ipon. Hindi ano, because nasa ano na siya seriously, nasa appeal na kasi. Court of Appeals, sa Supreme Court appeal. Sa tingin ko, ha. Pero sabi ko nga, proud naman ako dahil ang value ko pala ah P3.5 million. Joke lang yun, ha,” he said.
Although he is pursuing legal remedies, Anjo emphasized that he has decided not to make further comments regarding the controversy after the court found him liable. He expressed hope that Tito, Vic, and Joey would recognize his choice to remain silent moving forward.
Aside from discussing the case, Anjo also extended his congratulations to the iconic trio as “Eat Bulaga” celebrated another anniversary. He wished the hosts continued success and expressed his hope that they would achieve their long-standing dream of keeping the noontime program on the air for 50 years.
“Well, unang-una, kanina napanood ko ‘yung anniversary nila sa social media. Happy anniversary kay Tito, Vic and Joey.
“Lagi ko namang sinasabi na yung goal nila or wish nila na umabot sila ng 50 years ng ‘Bulaga.’ Sana umabot sila. Baka umabot nga dahil three years na lang.
“Kaya I wish them well. I wish them good health, happiness. I wish them success. Saka yung goal nila na umabot.”
Last month, the Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court directed Anjo to pay P3.5 million in damages to TVJ Productions over remarks he made against his former “Eat Bulaga” co-hosts through TikTok videos and livestreams in 2025.
In its June 30 decision, Branch 279 Presiding Judge Gloria Monica S. Lopez ruled in favor of TVJ Productions, the company responsible for producing the long-running noontime show led by Tito, Vic, and Joey.
Court records stated that the complaint accused Anjo of making false, malicious, and defamatory statements about the television hosts and the program in several TikTok uploads and livestreams during 2025.
The ruling also permanently barred Anjo, along with his agents and representatives, from publishing, broadcasting, sharing, distributing, or reposting defamatory content concerning TVJ Productions and “Eat Bulaga” across social media platforms and other digital channels.
