Female Student Allegedly Attacked by Mentally Incapacitated Woman in Albay

A female student in Albay was left traumatized after she was allegedly attacked by a mentally incapacitated woman in the town of Daraga.

Recently, Vanessa Del Castillo Mata, a Facebook user, shared the experience of her daughter after being attacked a woman with a mental health condition. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

Vanessa and her daughter had just arrived at their destination and had only recently stepped out of a tricycle when the unexpected incident occurred. Without warning, the woman allegedly grabbed the student’s hair, leaving both the child and her mother shocked by the incident.

The sudden attack caught them off guard, and the mother admitted that she initially did not know how to respond because everything happened so quickly. Fortunately, the student was carrying an arnis stick, which she reportedly used to create distance between herself and the woman and protect herself from further harm.

The victim suffered scratches from the encounter. While the physical injuries were minor, her mother said the emotional impact was much greater. The student was reportedly left deeply frightened by the experience and has become anxious about returning to school.

The authorities immediately responded and took the woman into custody. The matter was also reported to the proper authorities and to the victim’s school so that appropriate support could be provided.

The family expressed gratitude to the tricycle drivers who stepped in to help during the incident, as well as the police officers who assisted them afterward. They also thanked the clinic staff of Daraga National High School for providing immediate first aid to the student.

The family encouraged parents and guardians to accompany or closely monitor their children whenever possible, especially when traveling to and from school, to help ensure their safety and well-being.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the post
