Chie Filomeno said she and Jake Cuenca are very happy
Kapamilya actress Chie Filomeno talked about her and her boyfriend actor Jake Cuenca’s decision to keep their relationship private.
Following their noticeable closeness, Chie confirmed last year that she and Jake are dating. The actress also stressed in a previous interview that she is not Jake’s rebound girl. To recall, the actor had an emotional moment in his life when he and his former girlfriend Kylie Verzosa broke up.
This was not the first time that Jake and Chie had a connection. It is because the actor revealed his past with Chie. He shared that when the actress first joined It’s Showtime’s all-girl group, they already dated.
The reconnection happened in 2022 during the Star Magic’s Christmas Ball. From that, the connection between them became stronger.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Chie Filomeno shared that she and Jake Cuenca are very happy now and they just wanted to keep the details of their relationship away from the public’s eyes.
“We’re really happy. We’re really happy and, ano, keeping things low-key,” she said. Chie also shared that she is happy that Jake is respecting what she wants to do with her career.
The actress pointed out that even though her boyfriend’s name in the entertainment industry is well-established already, she is just going to that point and he lets her spread her wings as an actress.
Chie wanted to make a name in the industry as well and not just to be known as someone’s partner.
“Siyempre, we know naman na he’s already Jake Cuenca, but to think na parang nire-respeto niya ‘yung gusto kong mangyari, ‘yung time. Siyempre, I just don’t want to be Jake Cuenca’s someone or significant other so… He’s very respectful sa aspect na ‘yun so I’m very happy,” she shared.
The actress said that it is their decision to keep their relationship private. It has been a common scenario among celebrity couples to share glimpses of their relationship on social media. Chie Filomeno and Jake Cuenca is not following this trend.
“It’s not a secret e. I’m just keeping it private. Para hindi na maraming tao ang magme-meddle din,” she said.
