EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental today, May 7, 2024. Here are the details.

Following the 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Cagayan yesterday, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake recently hit Davao Oriental and it has a magnitude of 4.1.

The earthquake today that struck Davao Oriental, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, was tectonic in origin.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 05.48°North, 127.43°East – 199 km South 49° East of Governor Generoso. It had a depth of focus of 013 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
