Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Cagayan, May 6, 2024
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake in Cagayan today, May 6, 2024. Here are the details.
Following the 4.0 magnitude earthquake in Zambales earlier today, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in a neighboring province. According to the agency, the quake recently hit Cagayan and it has a magnitude of 4.1.
The earthquake today that struck Cagayan, Monday, May 6, 2024, was tectonic in origin. It hit the province at 10:18 in the morning.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Cagayan was located at 19.32°North, 120.44°East – 084 km North 74° West of Dalupiri Island in Calayan. It had a depth of focus of 019 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
