PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies Will Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that 35 areas in the country may experience “danger level”.

On Wednesday (May 1, 2024), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting southern Mindanao. Easterlies would affect the rest of the country.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Sultan Kudarat, Saranggani, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Sulu.

The Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and/or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency also reported that the heat index in 35 areas across the country may hit danger level. Here is the list of areas that may experience heat indexes of up to 48°C.

Meanwhile, Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that one or two storms may enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility for the month of May. However, no low pressure areas are expected to enter PAR until next week.
