PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Scattered Rains Over Parts of the Country
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.
On Friday (March 22, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Extreme Northern Luzon. Easterlies will affect the rest of the country.
“Sa ating latest satellite images ay makikita natin na unti-unti ngang humihina itong hanging amihan at nakakaapekto nalang dito sa may bahagi ng extreme northern Luzon,” Badrina said.
The northeast monsoon continues to weaken and will only affect the Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Badrina also noted that the agency may declare the end of ‘amihan season’ within the day.
“Malaki ‘yung posibilidad na tuluyan nang hihina itong northeast monsoon, at posible sa araw na ito ay maaaring ideklara ng Pagasa ang pagtatapos ng panahon ng amihan,” he added.
The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro.
The Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and/or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over the northern and eastern sections of the country will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
PAGASA did not raise a gale warning alert in any parts of the country.
