Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, March 5, 2024
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 5.0 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental today, March 5, 2024. Here are the details.
Following the 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Davao Occidental a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the same province. According to the agency, the quake hit Davao Occidental today with a magnitude of 5.0.
The earthquake today that struck Davao Occidental, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, was tectonic in origin.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 05.87°North, 125.63°East – 005 km South 26° West of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of focus of 169 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake but there may be aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake. The following instrumental intensities were recorded:
