PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (December 15, 2023)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area off Mindanao may enter the country’s vicinity within 24 hours.

On Friday (December 15, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina also reported a low-pressure area was spotted 1,595 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao. It may enter PAR on Saturday (December 15, 2023). It has a possibility of intensifying into a tropical cyclone.

Currently, the LPA has no direct effect in the country but it will still bring rains in Visayas and Mindanao. Once it enters, the weather system will be called “Bagyong Kabayan.”

The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and Eastern Visayas will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions. No gale warning was raised in any part of the country, according to PAGASA.
