BARANGAY AND SK ELECTIONS 2023 – Here are the voting guidelines for the voters regarding the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls in the Philippines.

One of the biggest national events is the election. In the Philippines, there are national elections which includes the poll for the country’s next president and vice president as well as local elections. The local poll includes the election for the officials in the barangay level and it is held every three (3) years.

Barangay and SK Elections 2023 are set this October 30. More than 93 million Filipinos are registered voters for the upcoming poll. These are important events in the local communities and most candidates are currently busy campaigning in their barangays.

With the local polls fast approaching, the candidates are holding campaign events in their barangays and stroll around to meet with the people. A lot of candidates also make pledge on what to do in case they win the poll.

The latest barangay and SK elections in the Philippines was in May 2018. The next poll was supposedly set in May 2020 but it was moved to December 2022. It was further moved to October 2023′ last Monday after President Bongbong Marcos signed into law the Republic Act No. 11935.

The campaign period for the upcoming polls in the country is set from October 19 to October 28. The Election Day is on October 30. Here are some of the Barangay and SK Elections 2023 Voting Guidelines for voters:

  • For the Barangay Elections, you may vote for:
    • one (1) Punong Barangay / Barangay Captain
    • seven (7) Sangguniang Barangay (SB) members
  • For the SK Elections, you may vote for:
    • one (1) SK Chairperson
    • seven (7) SK members

Also part of this Barangay and SK Elections 2023 Voting Guidelines is the voting period. Voters must come to the voting precincts not later than 3:00 p.m. The voting period starts from 7:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.

With regards to senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women who will vote at the Emergency Accessible Polling Place (EAPP), you will be given six (6) hours from 7:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. to cast your votes. October 30 is one of the special non-working holidays in the Philippines this 2023.
