How true is it that Jay Sonza is now in detention?
Rumor has it that former news anchor/reporter Jay Sonza is now in jail as netizens talked about these cryptic posts.
Sonza is one of the most controversial news personalities in the Philippines. From ABS-CBN, he transferred to GMA and did the Mel and Jay talk show with Mel Tiangco who also came from the Kapamilya network.
Even after his stint in the field of news and current affairs, he still becomes the talk of the town once in a while. It is because of his controversial posts about politics and even entertainment.
One of the most controversial statements he made this year was about the Liza Soberano-Ogie Diaz issue as Sonza said “pagsasamantala.” When it comes to politicians, one of the viral commentaries that he had was about the “colorful life” of DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo who he said is “Mang Kanor.”
However, for several months, the former TV Patrol anchor has been silent. His social media platform is quiet and netizens haven’t been answering back or agreeing with his statements.
On August 15, Jay Sonza is among the top trends on X (Twitter). It is because of the speculations that he is in jail now. Social media personality Jover Laurio (Pinoy Ako Blog) shared this post, “Sinong reporter ang nasa Quezon City Jail? Confirm niyo nga kung totoo Ang kumakalat na mugshot?”
There were a lot of netizens who said that this is about Sonza. Netizens on Facebook also expressed that the former broadcaster deserves to be in jail. Allegedly his case is illegal recruitment.
As of writing, Sonza has not released yet a statement about this issue. The supposed mugshot of the former reporter has not surfaced yet.
