Jay Sonza shared his thoughts on the Liza Soberano-Ogie Diaz issue
The Liza Soberano-Ogie Diaz issue is one of the hot showbiz topics these past few days and former journalist Jay Sonza shared his reaction also.
In her Fast Talk interview, Liza revealed that at first, Ogie Diaz was taking a 30 percent commission from her endorsements and projects while her road manager/personal assistant Tita Joni was taking 20 percent and ABS-CBN got the 10 percent.
Eventually, Tita Joni talked to Ogie to lessen the commission that they get from the actress because she was just taking 40 percent of her earnings when she was the one working hard for it.
Following Liza Soberano’s revelations about the commission and her take-home earnings minus the taxes she has to pay in the Philippines and in the States, Jay Sonza shared his thoughts through a write-up on his Facebook page.
“Ginawang gatasan iyong bata. Ito iyong halimbawa ng pagsasamantala habang kunwari ay pinangangalagaan mo ang kapakanan ng iyong alagang menor de dead,” he said.
The former TV news anchor also stressed that Liza became an actress during the time when she was just a minor.
“Off hand, we could already see some legal infractions on four (4) laws, a presidential decree on Child & Youth Welfare and a republic act on Violence Against Women and Children, a possible violation of the Labor Code and the Immigration Code of the Philippines,” Sonza said.
Then, the former journalist said that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) might want to send a letter of investigation (LOI) to Ogie Diaz, the former road manager of Liza Soberano, as well as to ABS-CBN/Star Magic. For him, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) could also look at this case because this might be a “possible violation of PD 603 at RA on VAWC.”
