MTRCB released a “Notice to Appear and Testify” to EAT after the issue of Wally Bayola that earned ire online.
Netizens strongly criticized the profane words Wally Bayola said in a noontime show and MTRCB released this.
In a previous article, “Sawsawero King” Rendon Labador called out the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) again because of the “pagmumura” of Wally Bayola on national TV. This incident happened in one of the recent episodes of the noontime E.A.T.
Bayola apologized for the cursing incident that happened and admitted his mistake. This is amid the critical comments he and the show received.
“Ako po ay may nabitawang salita na hindi ko po dapat sinasabi. Nagkamali po ako doon at ako po ay humihingi ng inyong paumanhin at pag-unawa ninyong lahat,” he said in his public apology.

However, this did not change the decision of MTRCB who just issued the production of the show a “Notice to Appear and Testify”. The summon was not because of of the supposed kissing incident involving former senator Tito Sotto and wife Helen Gamboa. It is because of the incident involving Bayola.
The show was summoned because of profanity.
According to MTRCB, the said scene violated Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986). The hearing date, as stated, will be on August 14, 2023.
It furthered that violating PD No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations “governing motion pictures, television programs, and related promotional materials” may merit “suspension or cancellation of permits and/or licenses issued by the Board and/or with the imposition of fines and other administrative penalty/penalties.”
