Mandaluyong Residents Beat Man After Drawing Knife on Barangay Watchman

A man was beaten by the residents of Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong after drawing a knife on a barangay watchman.

P/Captain Antonio Tan Jr., chief of Mandaluyong Police Sub-Station 2, said they received a complaint about a disturbance in Brgy. Addition Hills.

“‘Yung suspek natin na nahulian ng bladed weapon noong mag responde ang aming kapulisan pati ang bantay bayan ng Addition Hill nakita rin sa possession niya itong suspected na shabu,” Captain Tan added.

Approximately 0.30 grams of suspected illegal drugs were recovered from the suspect, identified as Bricks Bello, during the apprehension.

Upon further investigation at Mandaluyong Sub-Station 2, it was discovered that Bello was already facing charges of frustrated murder after allegedly shooting a barangay watchman on February 27, 2023.

The suspect also had a prior conviction for illegal gambling. The watchman, who was shot by Bello, has since returned to Samar, fearing for his life, according to Captain Tan.

Bello vehemently denied the allegations against him.  “Tnatanggi ko tanim lang po lahat yun, sir,”  he said. He will be charged with violating RA 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act, and Batas Pambansa Bilang 6, or illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
