Rico Blanco Gets Real About Love, Marriage & Waiting For The Right Person
RICO BLANCO – OPM singer-icon Rico Blanco shared heartfelt thoughts about relationships and marriage, admitting that while he once accepted being alone forever, his outlook has changed.
Singer-songwriter and actor Rico Blanco appears to remain hopeful that one day, he may still walk down the aisle with the person truly meant for him.
During a recent episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Rico opened up about his thoughts on relationships, marriage, and how his perspective has changed over the years. The singer shared that there was once a period in his life when he believed that staying single was the path meant for him.
“There was a time when I resigned, parang I knew that being single was the best thing set up for me. But that was a long time ago, then I had a relationship after that,” said Rico.
His experiences eventually shifted his outlook, making him more open to possibilities when it comes to love and companionship.
“Right now, I’m single, but I’m open to not being single.”
Although Rico is currently enjoying life on his own, he admitted that finding love again remains something he is open to. More importantly, he emphasized that marriage is still possible for him—but only under the right circumstances and with the right person.
He said, “[It’s] still a possibility for me. But I suppose [it] has to be with the right person because I’m at the age where I don’t have to get married.
“I understand, for some people, they have to get married, [but] right now I don’t have to get married. So if I will get married, it has to be the right person,” he added.
The singer also shared that he does not feel pressure from his family when it comes to settling down. According to Rico, his loved ones understand the emotional investment and commitment required in entering a serious relationship.
Instead of rushing into marriage or forcing himself into a situation that may not be right, Rico appears focused on waiting for a connection that genuinely feels right for him.
Fans may remember that Kapamilya actress Maris Racal was the last woman Rico was publicly linked to. The two ended their relationship in July 2024.
For now, Rico remains single, content, and hopeful that if marriage does happen someday, it will be with the person truly meant for him.
