Beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles has been single for a while now, and here’s what she shared about being a single mother.
Former beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles and actor John Estrada have been separated for many months now. To recall, the issue erupted when Priscilla revealed that John was with Lilly Hallman in Boracay and added that he was “looking like divorced,” implying marital problems.
As it appeared, that was the last straw of it. She could no longer hold on to something that had been actually hurting her. Behind their posts about their happy family life are problems that piled up and led to their divorce.
After months of separation, Priscilla revealed that Estrada had asked for reconciliation. However, she was no longer open to it. She has closed the chapter, and based on her recent interview, she is ready to love again.
Priscilla said, “And sinabi ko sa kaniya, because as I’ve told you, I don’t see myself sharing a life with you anymore, and I don’t think there’s a reason to stay married to you if I don’t see myself with you as my partner, as my companion. I don’t see a future with you.”
When they separated, she became a single mother, and in an interview, she revealed that this has been challenging for her in many aspects. According to Priscilla, being a mother requires constant sacrifice and strength, especially now that she is handling most responsibilities on her own. She admitted that earning money and providing for her child is far from easy.
She shared, “One of the things that I discussed in my interview is my financial situation. I was questioned why I said the things that I said, and I told the person, ‘Because it was the truth.’ Being a single mom is very challenging financially.”
Priscilla is proud to say that whatever she has now has come from the money she worked hard for. She is not ashamed to admit this because this is her reality. But she finds strength in these struggles. She earned her money to provide for herself and her daughter in a dignified way.
“As long as you work hard and believe, and you’re honest about what you do, and make yourself, your family, and your kids proud, then there is no way of going wrong,” she expressed.
