Class & Work Suspensions for Thursday (July 27, 2023) Due to Typhoon Egay
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class and work suspensions due to Typhoon Egay.
On Thursday (July 27, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Typhoon Egay continues to weaken over Luzon Strait west of Batanes. It was last spotted 195 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes.
Egay has maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is moving northwestward at a speed of 15 kph.

The typhoon will continue to bring heavy to intense rains over Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands. Rains with gusty winds are also expected over the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of the Ilocos Region, mainland Cagayan, and Isabela.
The weather disturbance is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning or afternoon.
Some LGUs announced the suspension of work and classes in several areas due to the inclement weather condition brought on by Typhoon Egay. The class and work suspensions have been made to ensure the safety of students, school personnel, and government employees.
