In a troubling incident that unfolded in the City of Naga, Cebu, a 19-year-old babysitter named Janen Castro Nacorda was arrested by the local police in the early hours of Friday, April 14, 2023 after allegedly taking her employer’s two-month-old baby without their consent.

Nacorda, who hails from Sitio Plus, Inayawan Pardo, Cebu City, had been employed as a babysitter for a couple residing in Brgy. South Poblacion, City of Naga for only two days when the incident occurred on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

It is reported that Nacorda left with the baby without the parents’ knowledge or permission, and despite their efforts to reach her, she remained unresponsive.

Upon discovering that their babysitter had absconded with their infant, the distraught parents immediately sought assistance from the local police.

In response, the authorities swiftly initiated a hot pursuit operation, which resulted in Nacorda’s arrest in Barangay Balirong, City of Naga at around 1 am on Friday. The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of the City of Naga Police Station, pending the filing of charges against her.
