The Department of Social Welfare and Development or more popularly called as the DSWD implements several programs that aim to help the financially-underprivileged Filipinos. One of which is the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or more popularly known as 4Ps.

The target of 4Ps are the poorest households in the country. Under this program, the government provides different forms of cash assistance. The benefits received by the beneficiaries vary depending on certain factors like the number of children enrolled in school, the presence of a pregnant family member, and the ages of the children.

Education Grant
The social welfare department provides education grants to 4Ps families with members that are still schooling. Children must be enrolled in pre-school, elementary, or secondary school and must attend at least 85% of the classes in a school year.
The DSWD allows each family to receive education grants for up to three (3) student beneficiaries. These grants will cover up to ten months of assistance annually. Here are the cash assistance rates:
- Php 300.00 per child in pre-school or day care
- Php 300.00 per child in elementary
- Php 500.00 per child in junior high school
- Php 700.00 per child in senior high school

Health Grant
The 4Ps benefits also include health support. Pregnant members of the household beneficiaries will receive assistance for pre-natal and post-natal care. Children aged 0–5 years are given aid to support their health needs.
Other Benefits
Beyond the education and health grants for the beneficiaries of the DSWD‘s 4Ps, they are also set to receive the following:
- A rice subsidy of Php 600.00 per month
- Automatic coverage under the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)
- Priority access to DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) interventions and modalities
