Kara David Weighs In on Apple David and Chad Gammad Controversy
KARA DAVID – The award-winning broadcast journalist shared her thoughts on the reported relationship between journalist Apple David and Chad Gammad, saying that the main issue is not their 15-year age gap but the importance of journalistic ethics.
During her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on July 29, Kara said she was not very familiar with the details of the controversy and clarified that she is not related to Apple despite having the same surname. While the public has been discussing the age difference between Apple, 33, and Chad, 18, Kara explained that this was not her primary concern. Instead, she focused on Apple’s role as a journalist and the need to remain objective when reporting. Kara pointed out that journalists are expected to maintain fairness and avoid personal relationships with people they have covered or featured in their reports.
According to her, becoming personally involved with someone connected to a news story can raise questions about a journalist’s ability to remain unbiased. She explained that such situations may affect public confidence in the accuracy and fairness of a journalist’s work.
Kara also stressed that her comments were not meant to criticize Apple personally but to highlight a professional concern that applies to journalism in general. She said the public should also consider the ethical responsibilities that come with the profession, not just the personal aspects of the relationship.
