PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (March 14, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted 340 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It may trigger overcast skies and rain in Mindanao.

The LPA has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone. The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

The LPA and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas. Amihan will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

“Dito naman sa buong bahagi ng Mindanao ay dulot ng low pressure area, ay makakaranas tayo ng maulap na kalangitan at kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog. Itong mga ulan na ito ay posible maging malakas na pag-ulan na maaring magdulot ng mga pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
