PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (March 2, 2023)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon and shear line bring rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (March 2, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Amihan and the shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting several parts of Luzon. Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, and Oriental Mindoro.
The shear line will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Southern Leyte, Davao Oriental, and Southern Leyte.
“Patuloy na umiiral ang northeast monsoon or amihan dito sa bahagi ng Luzon at ngayong araw, makakaranas pa rin ng maulap na kalangitan at pag-ulan dulot nitong amihan, at mayroon din mararansan na kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog ang ilang bahagi ng Visayas, dulot naman ng shear line,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
The localized thunderstorms/Shearline will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas.
Amihan will also bring similar weather condition with light rains over Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
