PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough, Amihan & Localized Thunderstorms to Brings Rains Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring two low pressure areas (LPA) inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
On Thursday (February 16, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. LPAs trough, amihan, and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the low-pressure inside PAR has been spotted 750 kilometers east of Hinatuan Surigao del Sur. In comparison, the other one has been located 1,340 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas outside PAR.
The trough of the LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
“Itong LPA na ito ay nanatiling mababa ang tiyansang maging bagyo, pero hindi pa rin natin tinatanggal ang possibility na ito ay magdevelop at maging bagyo sa mga susunod na araw,” weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, and Bicol Region.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
