Herlene Budol’s Manager Wilbert Tolentino Reveals Their Miss Planet International Experience
HERLENE BUDOL – The talent manager of Herlene Budol, Wilbert Tolentino, reveals their traumatic experience at the Miss Planet International competition.
The Miss Planet International was postponed to January 2023 in Cambodia. The beauty pageant was initially scheduled on November 19, in Uganda.
This is a pageant where Binibining Pilipinas first runner-up Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol will be competing to represent the Philippines. Recently, Herlene’s talent manager Wilbert Tolentino said that they have backed out from the pageant because of “uncertainties by organizers.”
Herlene Budol’s manager shared details about the contest shortly after she withdrew from the Miss Planet International pageant. Herlene and the other beauty queens were seen practicing on a rooftop in the blazing sun on a YouTube vlog by Tolentino.
Tolentino said that the original venue dropped out of hosting the pageant since the payment had not been settled yet. Additionally, during break time, no food was provided to the candidates.

Wilbert Tolentino claimed that the candidates had to find their own places to stay in addition to these because the hotel that the organization had promised them did not push through.
Before Herlene went home, four to six girls had already dropped out of the contest because they would have run out of money if they continued. Some of them even took to IG to disclose how their expenses had not been reimbursed. This urged the talent manager to pull out Herlene from the MPI.
Herlene Budol was also spotted sobbing and pleading with the MPI organizers to let her and other candidates leave. They were eventually permitted to leave after discussions.
Herlene’s team said that although their experience with the pageant wasn’t as positive as anticipated, she is still appreciative of the opportunity. Her time spent with children in Uganda is one of the memories she cherishes most.
