Here’s New Date & Venue of Miss Planet International 2022
MISS PLANET INTERNATIONAL 2022 – The organizers of Miss Planet International 2022 (MPI) recently announced the beauty pageant’s new date and venue.
MPI 2022, the international beauty pageant that Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol was supposed to participate in, has been postponed following reports of several candidates backing out from the pageant.
Yesterday, November 12, 2022, the national director of Miss Planet Uganda, Monica Akech, announced that the competition will still be happening, even though many of the candidates have withdrawn due to malfunctions and problems of some candidates and organizers.
The coronation night of MPI 2022 was scheduled to take place on November 19, 2022, at Speke Resort, Kampala, Uganda. This Sunday, November 14, 2022, MPI again issued a statement to announce that the grand coronation has been postponed and will be moved to another date and another country.

MPI 2022 will be held in January 2023 in Cambodia. The MPI organization admitted that the host organizers had a shortcoming in their sudden cancellation of the original date.
It is stated in their Facebook post (published as is): “On behalf of our Miss Planet International Organization we are announcing the postponement of our worldwide competition that would be held in Uganda on November 19th, 2022.
“We regret to inform that the Finals and Preliminary competitions won’t be held due to the Host Organizers failed to comply and meet the requirements for the realization of the events.
“Miss Planet International 2022 moves forward and it will be held in the Kingdom of Cambodia in January 2023.
“We would like to express our sincere apologies for all the inconvenience caused.”
On the night of November 11, 2022, Herlene Budol’s manager, Wilbert Tolentino, announced that he will withdraw the comedienne-beauty queen from the competition. According to Wilbert, they decided not to continue because of the trouble they experienced and they saw a problem with the management of MPI.
