GMA Network Speaks on Veteran Newscaster Mike Enriquez

GMA NETWORK – The Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep) reached out to the Kapuso management about the rumors that Mike Enriquez died.

One of the most popular newscasters in the Philippine media industry is Kapuso news anchor Mike Enriquez. Aside from being one of the veterans in the field, he is known for his iconic “excuse me po” in the midst of his news spells.

However, recently, a lot of people were alarmed when rumors that Mike Enriquez passed away circulated. It was after singer Richard Merk took to social media a message expressing his sadness over the alleged passing of the veteran newscaster and his sympathy to his family and friends.

Arnold Clavio reacted to the rumors that Mike Enriquez died and clarified that it is a “fake news”. He confirmed that he has talked to Mike who personally answered his phone amid his family and friends checking up on him.

The Philippine Entertainment Portal also reached out to GMA Network, Inc. management. Based on its article, the Kapuso network denied the reports saying that Mike Enriquez is very much alive.

According to GMA Network, Mike Enriquez is currently at his residence with his wife. The Kapuso newscaster’s recent noticeable absence has triggered the rumors.

According to singer Richard Merk, he got the news from the post of character actress Loly Mara. Based on the article, the actress apologized to Mike. According to her, it was a fake news a few years ago that she fetched and everyone expressed their condolences with no one telling otherwise.

Last December 2021, Mike Enriquez underwent a medical leave for a kidney transplant. After it, he isolated for three (3) months before returning to his job.
