Rowena Guanzon Says 'Katips' Ticket Sold Out in Taguig Mall

Rowena Guanzon is all-out support for the movie ‘Katips’

Congresswoman Rowena Guanzon shared in her Twitter post that Katips tickets are sold out in a mall in Taguig City.

The said movie is directed by Vince Tañada who previously said in an interview that he intended to have the same release date as the movie Maid in Malacañang by Darryl Yap. Direk Vince said that this is a way of contradicting the movie of Direk Darryl which is about the side of the Marcoses. The Katips director is a critic of the political family.

Aside from Direk Vince, veteran directors Joel Lamangan ang Floy Quintos also slammed the movie. Direk Joel even promised to make a movie to debunk the movie by Direk Darryl Yap while Direk Floy slammed Giselle Sanchez, the actress who played Cory in Maid in Malacañang, for saying the movie is an art.

As it is known to many that Rep. Guanzon is a Marcos critic as well, it was expected of her to support the movie of Direk Vince. In a recent Twitter post that the former Commission on Elections Commissioner shared, she shared a photo with Direk Vince Tañada.

In the caption of her post, Cong. Rowena Guanzon said that all the tickets in a mall in Taguig were sold. “KATIPS is sold out in SM Aura . With FAMAS awardee Direk Vince Tanada,” she wrote.

However, this post of the lawmaker did not receive support from many netizens who commented on this. There were those who are asking her to show evidence for her claim that all the tickets were sold while there were those who shared photos contradicting what Guanzon said. A supporter of Maid in Malacanang even shared a photo showing that the movie of Direk Yap was “sold out.”

In a post on the official Facebook Page of News5, data showed the social media engagement of Maid in Malacanang and Katips. The movie of Direk Darryl Yap got 87 percent while 13 percent went to the movie of Direk Vince Tañada.
