Joel Lamangan to do a movie against Darryl Yap’s movie about the Marcoses
Veteran director Joel Lamangan slammed the movie Maid in Malacañang, written and directed by Darryl Yap under Viva Films and Vincentiments.
From the time Direk Darryl announced that he will be doing a movie about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace, criticisms, and intrigues kept on coming against him and the people included in the production.
This has garnered bashing from anti-Marcos and those who have critics of the Martial Law under the administration of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Based on the article in Balita.net.ph, during the campaign launch of Never Again, Never Forget ML50 to mark the 50th anniversary of Martial Law on July 21, Direk Joel Lamangan also criticized the movie of Darry Yap.
The veteran director said that the supporters of the Marcoses will do anything to cover up what happened during the presidency of FEM. He said that this is what he believes and he is expecting that the Marcos camp will do this.
“Nag-uumpisa na sila. Gumawa sila ng pelikulang katar*nt*duhan, pera ng bayan yan… Anong drama yun? Drama ng pagtatakip para kaawan ng tao yung pamilyang yun. Ang tawag nga doon sa mga pumunta ng Malacañang noong panahon na yun, akyat bahay daw? Inakyat ang Malacañang, akyat bahay. Tingnan mo? Nag-uumpisa na sila,” Direk Joel said.
He also stressed that this should not be taken for granted. For him, this is an effort to distort the truth. The director also said that people should not be blinded by this. Direk Joel said that he will watch Maid in Malacanang and he will definitely do something to contradict this.
“Manonood ako. Titingnan ko yung katar*nt*duhan ang ginagawa nila at sinasabi nila. At sasabihin ko sa mga tao na hindi totoo ang lahat ng ito at gagawa ako ng pelikula laban dito,” the veteran director said.
However, Joel Lamangan said that this is not yet possible now because he will still find a producer for the “historical movie” that he will do.
