Malacañang Gives Update on Condition of Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid COVID Bout

MALACAÑANG – The Palace spoke on the condition of President Bongbong Marcos who is currently undergoing his 2nd bout against COVID-19.

The threats of the COVID-19 virus are still present. A few weeks after the election, the health authorities noted an increase on the daily recorded coronavirus cases in some parts of the country, especially in Luzon.

Some government officials who have just assumed office also tested positive for COVID-19. One of them is Pres. Bongbong Marcos who first tested positive for the virus on an antigen test and it was confirmed by an RT-PCR test.

Marcos Jr. has just assumed office last June 30. He and his family have decided to stay in Bahay Pangarap in Malacañang during his term as the country’s Chief Executive.

It was last Friday when the 64-year-old President was confirmed positive for COVID-19. Based on the protocols for the fully-vaccinated individuals, he will be in isolation for seven (7) days since he tested positive for the virus.

Then, the President experienced mild symptoms but Malacañang assured that he is okay. He is closely monitored by his lead physician, Dr. Samuel Zacate, and is given medications.

Recently, Malacañang gave an update on the current condition of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Palace said that the Chief Executive “is on his way to complete recovery”.

Dr. Zacate said that the vital signs of Marcos Jr. are all were “within normal limits and exemplary”. The President also has no fever and does experience body malaise. He has a very mild nasal stuffiness but he no longer has a cough. He experiences nasal itchiness thus he’s given additional medications.

According to the President’s lead physician, his throat has no noticeable inflammation and there are no signs of respiratory problems.
