PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Scattered Rains Over Luzon & Visayas (June 23)

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (June 23)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low pressure area will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers over Luzon and Visayas.

On Thursday (June 23, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 145 kilometers north of Borongan City in Eastern Samar.

The LPA will bring cloudy conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Mountain Province, Benguet, Pangasinan, La Union, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Samar, eastern Samar, northern Samar, central Luzon, CALABARZON and Bicol Region.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains trigged by the low-pressure area.

Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran said that the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm but it will bring rains over some parts of the country.

“Itong LPA, sa ngayon, ay mababa ang tsansa na maging ganap na bagyo ngunit ito po ay magdadala ng mga pag-ulan lalong lalo na sa eastern section ng Visayas at Luzon,” Duran said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, rest of Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

The easterlies / localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
