PAGASA Says Easterlies & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the localized thunderstorms and the easterlies will bring rainy condition over parts of the country.

On Monday (June 20, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The localized thunderstorms and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon while the Easterlies will be affecting the rest of the country.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, and Benguet.

“Kahit umiiral ang monsoon break, panahon pa rin ng tag-ulan, kaya may mga inaasahan tayo na mga isolated na mga pag-ulan dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The easterlies will bring generally fair weather condition over the rest of the country except for isolated rains.

“Ang mga pag-ulan na ito ay maaaring mahina hanggang sa katamtaman hanggang sa kung minsan may malalakas na pag-ulan, kaya para sa mga kababayan po natin ‘wag kalimutan magdala ng payong,” Aurelio added.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
