PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (March 9)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (March 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted 45 kilometers south of Zamboanga City. It has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone but it will bring cloudy condition with rain in Mindanao, Visayas, and in the southern portion of Palawan.

“Nananatili itong mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo at dahil sa LPA, nakakaranas tayo ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga pag-ulan sa bahagi ng Mindanao, Visayas at ganoon din sa southern portion ng Palawan,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The LPA/Shearline is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands. Amihan will also bring similar weather condition over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Aurora, Bicol Region and Northern Samar.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Occidental Mindoro, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, and Oriental Mindoro.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains due to LPA and shearline.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon as well as the rest of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
