Bus Drivers & Conductors Appeal to Restore Terminal in EDSA

Numerous provincial bus drivers and conductors were pleading to restore the operation of terminal in EDSA.

Bus drivers and conductors expressed their sentiments of not earning enough even after the government allowed the resumption of bus operations under Alert Level 2.  They find it hard to earn enough cash amid the pandemic.

The authorities only allow 70 percent of the total capacity to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease in the country. Buses could only fill the total capacity every Friday and Saturday.

The provincial bus workers are pleading to restore the operation of terminal in Buendia. The drivers reiterated that they lose earnings due to limited number of passengers after the terminal has been transferred to PITX.

Provincial buses were prohibited to pass along EDSA. The conductors revealed that commuters choose to take other public utility vehicles rather than provincial buses due to the new terminal’s location.

Several passengers have also expressed their support to bus drivers because it is more convenient for commuters to return the terminal at EDSA.
