Following Sen. Imee Marcos’ “No-El” Claim, PBBM Junks Sister’s Allegation
PBBM – President Bongbong Marcos reacted to the claim of Senator Imee Marcos that he allegedly wants term extension.
It is no secret to the public that two (2) Marcoses are currently on the opposite sides of the political horizon amid the many issues in the government. Following the arrest and the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos aligned herself with the Dutertes.
PBBM and his administration were greatly criticized and blamed over the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to Sen. Marcos, she cannot accept what was done to Duterte. She even immediately left the senatorial slate of the Marcos Jr. administration then.
Sen. Imee Marcos was endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte during the 2025 Midterm Elections campaign period. The Vice President believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly committed an impeachable offense over what was done to former Pres. Duterte.
For several times, Sen. Imee Marcos apologized for convincing Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to run alongside her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, in 2022. According to her, the Vice President was already determined then to run for mayor of Davao City but she convinced her to be the running mate of her brother.
Amid the political turmoil, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that PBBM allegedly uses illegal drugs. She did not directly call for her brother to step down from the presidency but she called that he return to their home province and get some treatment.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly working with the House of Representatives for a “No-El” or “no election” in 2028. The President supposedly wants a term extension.
Recently, PBMM was asked about his reaction to the claim of Sen. Imee Marcos. The question to the President at a press conference came after his “smirk” reaction when he was asked about it previously.
“She should fire her staff who gave that information. Fake news hurts everyone. Not only those that fake news is attacking, but also those who are purveying that fake news… She should choose her sources of information better,” PBBM said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that he never had a conversation with anyone about a term extension. Based on a post, he tagged the claim of his sister as “fake news”.
“The truth of the matter — we have never, at any point, even spoken about this, anywhere with anyone at any time… Fake news is a corrosive influence in all sectors… If you are not part of the solution you become part of the problem,” the President said.
Recently, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also reacted to the claim of some majority senators that the majority senators are allegedly being “targeted” following a change in the Senate leadership.
