Cops Arrest Policeman Involved on Stealing Cash from Gasoline Station
A policeman has been arrested after allegedly stealing cash from a gasoline station at the town of Santo Tomas in Batangas.
Over the past few decades, corruption has been one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in various regions all around the world. It causes a negative impact to the country’s image and economy.
The Philippine government has been already exerting effort and taking immediate action to prevent such acts but corruption still exist. Greedy officials and public servants are involved in some corruption acts including extortion.
The Philippine National Police reported that the cop was from the Laguna Police 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company. The suspect steals cash from a gas station at Barangay Santiago in Santo Tomas, Batangas on Wednesday evening (February 16, 2022).
The suspect immediately escaped using a motorcycle without a plate number heading to Laguna. The authorities alerted all stations and checkpoint operations in the town due to the incident.
The police officers were able to corner and arrest the thief at a checkpoint along National Highway in Barangay San Isidro, Pagsanjan. The culprit admitted his crime during the custodial investigation.
The unidentified cop also admits his involvement in various robbery and holdup incident in come convenience stores in Laguna. The thief has been brought to the Santo Tomas Police Station for custody.
The authorities were already preparing charges that will be filed against the suspect. The cop will also face administrative charges under Laguna PNP.
