PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (October 23)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone and Low Pressure Area would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 23, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The ITCZ and LPA would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 75 kilometers southeast of Tacloban City, Leyte. It is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone, which would affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The LPA would bring cloudy weather conditionwith scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms Northern Samar, Batanes and Babuyan group of Islands as well as Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ifugao, Abra, Mountain Province, Apayao and Kalinga.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would also experience similar weather condition. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

“Itong dalawang LPA na ito ay magdudulot ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan sa buong bahagi ng Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) at Palawan,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon would be moderate to rough. The surrounding sea conditions over the remaining parts of the country would be slight to moderate.
