PAGASA Says Northeasterly Surface Windflow to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeasterly surface windflow would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.
On Wednesday (October 20, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeasterly surface windflow would affect the country’s weather condition.
The Northeasterly surface windflow/localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Batanes and Babuyan Islands would also experience similar weather condition. Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country are expected to experience the same weather condition.
“Sa Luzon magpapatuloy ang maganda at maaliwalas na panahon. Sa Visayas at Mindanao, kitang-kita po na maganda ang panahon na mararanasan natin ngayong araw,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
However, the northeasterly surface windflow has no significant impact to the current weather condition in the Philippines.
The weather agency also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon would be moderate to rough due to the moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction. The surrounding sea condition over the rest of the archipelago would be slight to moderate.
