Until now, she continues to do many showbiz stints. In a recent unplanned interview that comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz did while Ruffa Gutierrez was in ABS-CBN’s dressing room, they talked about politics.

Ogie asked if there were those who convinced her to join politics. She said that there were a lot who asked her to run for Councilor or Party List Representative in Quezon City and Cebu. However, she refused the offers.

When asked why she turned down the offers, Ruffa said that she is enjoying her life in show business and that she would not enter into something that she knows she can’t do her best.

Then, she said that if ever she would decide to be in public service, she prefers to be in the Department of Foreign Affairs or the secretary of the Department of Tourism. “Para sa akin, mas bagay sa akin ang ganung position, hindi botohan pa, appointment,” she said.

Ruffa added that it would be something that she enjoys doing and fits her because she is knowledgeable in the said aspect.

Then, the actress jokingly said that she could just be the first lady and Ogie asked, “first lady kanino?” She answered, “ay, wala pa, can you find me someone?” and they laughed at this. Celebrity siblings Janice and Gelli de Belen who were with Ruffa Gutierrez in the dressing room also laughed.
