LJ REYES – Kapuso actress LJ Reyes shares that Aki once asked her about the happening and this is how she replied to his 11-year-old son.
When LJ Reyes and Paolo Contis are still together, he was the one who stood as a father figure to her son Aki. As much as many people know, the actress has a son with Paulo Avelino. People admired the relationship of Paolo with Aki. They are so close to each other and such closeness was visible as to how Aki is so comfortable in being with him.

Aki and Paolo got along so well. They make fun of each other, sleep together, shares jokes, and do things together like how a real father and son do. However, amid the split speculation, as Paolo took down the photos of LJ from his social media account, he also took down the photos and moments he shared with Aki. This part is more painful to some people because they really admire his closeness to the son of LJ.
Even LJ herself admits to this. He really was close to Aki but that was before. Finally speaking up about the separation, the actress painfully revealed that it’s true and it was not a mutual decision. She gathered her courage and took strength from her kids to step up because above herself, what she did is to give protection to her children. She wanted her children to hear the truth coming from her.
For months, despite the indifference from Paolo and not receiving the same effort from him to work things out, she fought. She fought alone to save their relationship and to give their children a complete family but he gave up. It seems like, for her, he was just waiting all along for her to initiate it. She did the initiation and from that point, he refused to take them back.
The last straw for LJ that made her really say that enough is enough, is her kids. Her kids are the main reasons and it is from them where she also gets her strength in doing the interview. Since Aki is not anymore a little kid, her sweet boy was aware of what’s happening, and when the moment he asked her about it, she explained to him things and the reality of it.
She wanted him to hear the truth directly from her because she will never lie to him. She narrated to him the reasons and what has happened. Breaking down, she shared that she said sorry to her son. She is sorry because as much as she wanted to give them a happy and complete family, she can’t do it anymore.
In her narrative, her son cut her off and she just heard the sweetest thing from him amid her emotional struggle: “You complete us, Mom.”

“Di ko po alam na grabe yung kirot sa puso ko. Na-touch po ako sa bata. Sobra. Pero napaka-sweet na bata ni Aki po talaga at yun yung pino-protektahan ko,” she added. The past months that she fought hard to save their relationship was mostly because of their children. She fought for them.
